Skids

People often use the words pallet and skid interchangeably, but they’re actually quite different. Let’s tackle the differences to help make your decisions easier: Pallets are shipping platforms with both top and bottom decks. Skids are shipping platforms that do not have any bottom boards.

Typically skids are heavy-duty transport and elevation structures that are used in the steel industry. We supply many of these to the various steel service centers, but skids can also be used for many purposes in other industries. While we don’t like to pick favorites, pallets and skids both have different strengths and are ideally suited to different projects. Unsure if a pallet or a skid is right for you? Give us a call and we can help you find out!
